  • Where do I email support questions?
    • Email to info@digitalcampfiresfoundation.org
  • Is phone support available?
    • Live phone support is not currently available.
  • How do I get Internet access?
    • There are at least three ways to connect to the Internet.
      • Dial-up access:  There is a file on your computer named "mpcsetup".  Before running the program, you will need to have a modem that is connected to your home phone line.  Plug in your phone to the modem and then plug your modem into your home's phone line connection.  Run the mpcsetup program and follow onscreen directions.  MilwaukeePC offers 12 months of free phone line Internet connection.
      • Cable Modem:  If you have cable television service into your home, please contact the service for more information.  Cable broadband access is many time faster than a dialup connection.
      • DSL:  This is a phone line connection available to homes that are within a certailn distance of a DSL link.  Contact your phone service provider to see if they offer DSL service in your area.
  • Where can I find online information on a variety of computer related questions?
  • What is a virus, worms and Trojan horses?
  • What is spyware? and how can I block it?
  • How can I prevent popup advertising?
    • Again Ad-Aware and Spybot will remove most of these annoying and resource hogging programs that were installed in your computer as you explored various web sites.
    • Other more proactive commercial software programs are available for purchase.  Including
  • How can I prevent or block a variety of computer infections?
  • Why is my computer slowing down and how can I fix it?
    • If you have cleaned all of the above rogue programs from your computer and it's still running more slowly than when you first received it,
      • Purchase more computer memory
      • Purchase a larger hard drive
      • Have a computer professional in your area evaluate your computer and optimize it for the programs you are running.
      • Return you computer to SHARE and let one of our computer volunteers take a look at it. 
  • Can I get more information from the manufacturer of my computer?
    • Dell, HP, Omnitech and other computer manufacturers usually have an excellent online or phone support system. 
    • If you need to call a support center, you may need a credit card to purchase help time.  I
    • f you received your computer from DCF, technical information about it  may be found on a label on the side of your computer.  You will need that information for anyi support phone call.
