Please contact DCF if you need one or more refurbished computers. Our computers are 800Mhz or better and have a licensed copy of Windows 2000 and assorted other open source software. We install Open Office, a Microsoft Office compatible suite of program on all machines.

We are seeking functional computer systems with the following minimal specifications.
PC Computers:
Pentium III (Desktop or laptop)
256Meg of RAM
9 Gigabyte hard drive
CD-ROM Player (CD-R preferred)
Integrated graphics display or PCI grahics adapter card
NIC card (network) and/or integrated Modem (or PCI modem card)
Acceptable Compatible Accessories:
Mouse
Keyboard
17" Monitor (15" no longer accepted)
LCD monitors (all sizes accepted)
PCI Modem (External modems also acceptable)
External speaker system
Webcam
Graphics tablet
Power cords
Joystick
Networking components (hubs, switches, servers)
Wireless cards and components
Quantities:
DCF prefers donations of multiples of the same type of computer system. This helps us develop identical operating systems and training opportunities. We have the capacity to accept up to 200 computers at a time at our refurbishing warehouse, and for the costs involved can schedule a pickup of your suplus computers from your location.
Macintosh Computers:
We will accept Mac computers that can run OSX or better operating systems. Minimal quantities of 10 identical computers at a time are most useful. We have non-profit partners that have requested small Mac-based training labs of 10 or more computers.
Printers:
DCF does not accept any pre-owned printers at this time. New or unused printers (laser or inkjet) are of course most appreciated!
Video/Data Projectors:
Functional video/data projectors that accept 640x480 (or better) data displays...800x600 preferred.
Software:
Software presents special challenges such as licensing and transferability of the license. We do have a need for educational titles appropriate for K-12 students and young adults. Educational games are happily accepted.
NOTE: DCF "autoclaves" all hard drives to erase all existing data/software. As a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher partner, DCF installs a licensed copy of Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system and Microsoft Office compatible open source software. In addition, we also offer the latest Ubuntu release for PC's and Macintosh computers.
